WriDaNoJu is an annual competition where writers attempt to write a 50,000+ word novel during the month of June. There's no prize for winning, except a PDF certificate and the knowledge that you wrote an entire novel in 30 days.

Here's the rules.

1. The entire 50,000 words must be written between June 1 and June 30. NO EXCEPTIONS. You may not write 500 words the night before June 1 and count them toward your total word count.

2. The work you write can be a novel, a series of short stories, memoirs, an epic poem, etc. It doesn't have to be a novel or even related stories. You can write a short story, finish an incomplete novel, write a set of flash fiction stories and a poem. As long as the work you did during the month of June adds up to 50,000 words, then you're a winner.

3. If you continue work that you started prior to WriDaNoJu, you can NOT count those words typed before June toward your total word count. If you wrote 25,000 words on a novel in May and you want to finish that novel in June, your novel needs to hit 75,000 words by June 30.

4. Your outline cannot be counted toward your word count. Even if you write the entire outline in June, it is not part of your finished story. Also, if you write any pieces of dialog prior to June because you absolutely don't want to forget those catchy quotes, you must retype them when entering them into your manuscript. Do not copy and paste. It's cheating.
